Chanukah for every child: gifts and holiday meals

$3,412 raised of $12,000 · 8 gifts · 50 days left
There are families in our city for whom Chanukah is just another hard week in December. A single mother working two jobs. A grandfather raising his grandchildren. A family that moved here with nothing. This year we're packing 150 Chanukah boxes: a wrapped gift for every child, a menorah and candles, and a full holiday meal — brisket, latkes, donuts — delivered to the door by a volunteer who stays to say hello. Every gift is anonymous, and every family receives it with dignity. All we need is you.

Other ways to give
I give monthly because I remember my first Friday here, when I knew nobody. Somebody paid for my seat that night. Now I pay for someone else's.
Questions about giving
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Open Book Chabad is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your gift is tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. A receipt is emailed to you right away.
Can I dedicate my gift?
Yes. Add "in honor of" or "in memory of" and a name on the form, and we'll mention it at the next Shabbat kiddush if you like.
How do I change or stop a monthly gift?
Email or call the office and we'll change it the same day.
Is giving online secure?
Yes. Your card goes straight to our payment processor and never touches our website or our files.
Can I give in someone's name for a yahrzeit?
Of course. Many people give $18, $36 or $180 on a parent's yahrzeit. Choose "in memory of" and write their name.
